This Wednesday was very unique because, as Mr. Milo said, we encountered a variety of people in different stages of their journeys. We visited Perch to find he is recovering and doing well, despite some . We met up with Dan and Dan at the gas station. I had never met the second Dan and I was intrigued to hear his story. He had such great optimism, saying that he got himself into this situation, so...

Here’s my experience from last night. Many of us are always on the rush. Never stopping always speeding by, from to and fro. Many of us, just drive by them in are cars and roll windows up. We are know they are always there, so many of us hardly pay any attention to their true existence. However, last night, I noticed something. When I was talking with Dirk, he showed that he trully focuses...

…It was so nice to see everyone again! It’s been a long time since I’ve been out with the gang, too long actually. Seeing perch sober and in a rehabiliation center was comforting knowing he was safe and warm. Overall it was a semi quiet night with only 5 students on the journey. Mr. Lucas had great news; he was planning to be moved out of his run down RV, and into a small...

This Wednesday, we met a wonderful woman named Sherry, whom I had never met before. She told us how she was always taught to care for others before herself, which is the reason she was a Cub Scout leader for many years. She herself was homeless for some time, but now, she takes in those in need. Even though she may not be in the best situation herself, she does her very best to give shelter and...

We go out to lend a helping hand, to be there, for everyone. We are following in the light of Christ by reaching out to those of society who are neglected each day. Everyone knows who they are, but lack care and compassion towards them. Through my experience on project H.O.P.E a few weeks back, I felt the true light of Christ shining through us as we spent quality time with those whom society...

From 3/14/2012: Tonight was a very nice night for Project Hope, I couldn’t have asked for a better one actually. I saw some new shy faces since last time I had gone in January; there were some regulars that I didn’t see though. We hit up all the usual spots and cleared out the van. We made lemonade and that was a huge hit, I’m pretty sure each person had at least 3 cups of it....

We see them on street corners, holding up signs saying homeless and God bless you. Many of us, roll up our windows and just drive by, or see them as mere “scammers.” That is not who they are though. They are actual human beings, just like us. We all were born onto earth the same way and anyone of us could end up in that position, or end up succeeding and producing much fruit from our...

Project Hope this week was inspiring. It’s just incredible that these people can still put a smile on their faces and be happy even though they have gone through so many hardships. Each and every person I saw or met had a different story and each story gets harder and harder to listen to. We are so sheltered and lucky to have the things we do. Others are   suffering and none of us have the...

Over the past two weeks it has been nice to see more people while doing project H.O.P.E. with the weather being as nice as it has been, its great to see some faces that we haven’t seen in a while. It is such a great feeling giving these people things that they don’t have and seeing how truly happy it makes them. For example when we gave Don a pair of shoes he was thrilled, said thank...
